Hi, I’m Kuba Kaliciński – a filmmaker who works as both Director and Director of Photography. Depending on the project, I lead from behind the camera or from behind the monitor. Often both. Not out of ego – just out of necessity, when a story needs visual clarity and precision without compromise.
I’m drawn to filmmaking through a kind of compulsive curiosity. When something fascinates me, I go deep – no shortcuts, no half-knowledge. That’s how I got fluent in editing, color grading, compositing, and visual effects. I’ve never treated these as side skills – they’re essential tools in shaping a final image that actually works.
I approach production like a system: camera movement, lighting, post workflows, narrative rhythm – it’s all connected. I design shots with the cut in mind. I think about light in the color suite. I care about pace as much as I care about texture. Every choice matters, and I don’t like leaving any of them to chance.
If it feels effortless on screen,
it means the hard work was done right.
